## Create your own Telegram bot.

Follow the BotFather steps below, then connect the new bot in TGDog. You do not need to write code or deploy a server; TGDog runs the bot’s monitoring through Chrome.

### From BotFather to your first bot

- Open official BotFather.Use [@BotFather](https://t.me/BotFather) in Telegram and press Start if shown.

- Send `/newbot`.BotFather will ask for your bot’s display name.

- Choose a display name. For example, `My Community Guard`. This is the name members see.

- Choose a unique username.Use letters, numbers, or underscores; it must be 5–32 characters and end in `bot`. Example: `my_community_guard_bot`. If taken, try another. The example is not a link or an available-name guarantee.

- Save the API token privately.BotFather returns your bot’s link and token. Copy the token without sharing it. If compromised or lost, use BotFather’s `/token` command to generate a new one.

- Connect it inside TGDog.Open the extension’s Bot connection screen, paste the token, and connect. Confirm the verified bot identity before continuing to the group setup below.

Never enter your token on this website or send it to support. An existing webhook or another update receiver may conflict.

03

## Introduce your bot to the group.

Open your test supergroup’s member settings, choose Add members, and search for the exact username you created. Add the bot, then open the group’s administrator settings and promote it. Grant deletion and member-restriction permissions if you plan to use automatic actions. Send /setup or a text message in the group, then receive updates in TGDog. Menu names vary between Telegram clients.

Confirm that your bot is an administrator in the test supergroup before configuring rules. Ordinary groups are recorded but are not supported for enabled management in this version.

04

## Configure your group rules.

Open Groups & rules, find your supergroup and edit its rules. Enable observation, add keywords, and configure repeated-message, near-duplicate or anti-flood settings as needed. Review the group’s whitelist, keep Observe selected for your first test, and save the configuration.

Saving rules can check previously cached messages. Start in Observe mode; choose Block or Remove only after understanding their effects on membership and message history.

05

## Observe the execution results.

Send a matching test message from a non-admin member who is not on the whitelist. Check Suspicious messages for the matched text and rule snapshot. Observe mode saves evidence without taking member actions. If you explicitly enable Block or Remove, check Execution records for message-deletion progress and the member-action outcome, then adjust your rules using the results.

Keep Chrome awake and online. Full analysis runs about every five minutes, so results may take time to appear. Pending, retry or unknown records do not mean an action has succeeded.
