Before you create your bot
Start with a dedicated bot for TGDog. You need a Telegram account to create it, but you do not need to write code or host a bot server.
Create your bot in six steps
- Open official BotFather. Use @BotFather in Telegram and press Start if shown.
- Send
/newbot. BotFather will ask for your bot’s display name. - Choose a display name. For example,
My Community Guard. This is the name members see. - Choose a unique username. Use letters, numbers, or underscores; it must be 5–32 characters and end in
bot. Example:my_community_guard_bot. If taken, try another. The example is not a link or an available-name guarantee. - Save the API token privately. BotFather returns your bot’s link and token. Copy the token without sharing it. If compromised or lost, use BotFather’s
/tokencommand to generate a new one. - Connect it inside TGDog. Open the extension’s Bot connection screen, paste the token, and connect. Confirm the verified bot identity before continuing to the group setup below.

/newbot
My Community Guard

Creation steps: Telegram’s official BotFather guide.
Protect the token and prepare permissions
Treat the token like a password. Paste it only into the TGDog extension, never into this website or a support message.
Next, add your bot to a test supergroup and promote it to administrator in the group’s settings. Grant deletion and member-restriction permissions if you plan to use automatic actions. Continue with bot connection and update delivery and supergroup permissions.
Check your setup
- Use the official BotFather account.
- Keep your bot token private.
- Add the bot to a test supergroup before using member actions.
